What is series A funding?

When a startup has proven its concept and aims to grow rapidly, it will often raise a Series A round of funding. This type of investment comes after pre-seed and seed funding, but before Series B, C, and later rounds.

What does a series a investor do?

In exchange for their investment, Series A Investors (and investors in subsequent rounds) receive an equity stake in the company. In effect, the investors become part owners of the company.
